so much stuff, so little time

Sorry that I have been slacking on my blog!
Working two jobs [9 am - 9:30 pm] and trying to have a social life doesn't really allowing blogging.

But here I am!
With some time to breathe and catch-up.
I love Sundays. :)

So my trip to Atlanta ended well.
I spent time with my family, and my puppy.
And I went boating. Man I miss being out on the water!
Sadly, all the pictures were on my little brother's camera, and he is inaccessible  right now [more later].
[me and Luke Skywalker]

After ATL I came back to my life. My job. Er..jobs. My roommates (yay!).
I taught preschool again this past week.
We learned about the weather.
Check out how cute my classroom was:
The kids cut out (or ripped) the clouds and painted the sun.

This next week I am moving up, though, and away from my adorable and crazy 3- and 4-year olds.
This is sad in some ways, but also a blessing.
I was getting really stressed with trying manage THIRTEEN 3- and 4-year-olds.
So starting Tuesday I will be in charge of the Elementary Kids.
The plus: Field trips Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
LOVE.

And guess what?!
My little brother entered the Missionary Training Center on Wednesday!!
He is going to serve a prostlying mission (aka going to teach people about Christ and our purpose here on Earth) in Carlsbad, California.
He stays in the MTC for two weeks and then heads out.
So this is why I can't get his memory card! :)
[He's a good lookin' guy, huh? Sorry, ladies, he is off limits for two years!]

Also,
look what I did last night:
Glass etching!
It was my first time, so don't judge too harshly.
I loved it, though, so I just might have to do it again!

I hope you all have a great week!
And let's be real, I probably won't post again till the weekend.
Have a great Memorial Day!

science project

For my Science Methods course my professor wants us to be more familiar with invertebrate; not be squeamish, and know how we can use them in our future classroom.

My group decided on meal worms. We picked them up yesterday and I am the lucky one that gets to have them first! I actually kind of like them (ok, you can start calling me weird now). I just like animals. Yeah, I know they're worms. But get past that. Just for two seconds while you read this post.

To document our observations my group has a blog, The Life of a Worm. You don't have to actually read that (unless for some reason you really like worms. or science.). That's just more FYI.

So here are my new temporary pets:

I started naming them. and by "I", I mean my brother, Ben

Ike, Mike, Sike, Pike, Little Tyke....

[please don't let this scare you away from my blog. this will be the one and only time i post about them!]

My Brother Bleeds Blue

I should have blogged about this right when it happened. In spite of my fault, I still have great news!

My little brother, Ben, got accepted in to BYU!

He's such a stud!

Look how cute he is!

He watches out for me.
(p.s. don't worry folks, thats just ibc.)

The three rockin' Haskins that will be at BYU in the fall.
Can't you tell we're in college??

So, needless to say, I am really excited for him to come out. So, in the words of the elder brother Todd, Come-on Benny-Boy! Let's go Benny-Boy!

The Life of A Delta Employee's Daughter

Ok. I admit it. I am an airline brat. I can fly anywhere, anytime.
Its great.
But that’s not what I’m here to tell you.
I am here to tell you that in one weekend I went to St. George AND Atlanta, Georgia (that’s where I got the airline brat thing). Here is what I did:
Drove 3 hours
Hiked a mountain
No wait, hiked two mountains
Almost died on the second mountain
Drove 3 more hours
Slept for 2 Hours
Went to the Airport
Flew for 3 ½ hours
Partied it up in HOT-lanta
Polar-Bear swam in the pool
Got even less sleep
Flew 3 ½ more hours
Went straight to class

All in 3 days. I love my life.

Blessed

The Lord has blessed me so much in my life. I do not recognize this as much as I should. I have the most amazing family that cares immensely about me. I get to see them all within a week, it will be the first time we are all together for Christmas in quite a while. I can’t wait!

I go to the most amazing university in the entire world, and I have no idea how I got accepted. I get to take amazing classes that prepare me for the secular world of careers, and I also get to learn about Heavenly Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and their gospel—in my classes!

I have the most amazing roommates, and I am incredibly sad that Carrie will be leaving next semester. But I am looking forward to my new roommate, and more experiences with Jen, Ahlin, Leah, and Sarah. Love you girls!

My best friend is a wonderful example to me. Today he hit his year mark on his mission. He willing is giving two years of his life, putting back education and a career, to serve the Lord. I am so blessed to be such good friends with him. I’m so proud of him!

I have been kind of a brat about my family moving. Seems silly to even care since I don’t live with them anymore, but Minnesota meant so much to me and it was sad to see my family leave it forever. But this move is such a blessing to my family. My dad was able to keep a job in this rocky economy. My parents were able to get a beautiful house. I was able to have a wonderful job this summer that ended up blessing more people than just me. Heavenly Father knew what He was doing when He wanted my family to move.

I am so blessed. :)
